How does cashback work for card purchases?
How does cashback work for card purchases?
Cashback moves through different stages after you make a card purchase:
Pending: When your purchase is authorized but hasn't cleared, your cashback is calculated in dollar terms and remains pending.
Earned: Once the purchase clears, your cashback is converted to ETHFI at the current price and enters a 7-day lock period.
Claimable: After the 7-day lock period, your cashback becomes claimable.
Claimed: Once you claim your cashback from the Cashback page - https://ether.fi-search-r-ether-chrome-bb-ie-utf-8.exchange/app/cash/cashback, the ETHFI is sent to your account.
Trade and borrow cashback also follow the 7-day lock period.
For more information about the lock period and claiming your cashback, see https://etfihelp.fi-search-r-ether-chrome-bb-ie-utf-8.exchange/en/articles/825725-why-is-my-cashback-locked-and-when-can-i-claim-it
Cashback rates are applied progressively based on your total spend each calendar month.
How is cashback calculated?
How is cashback calculated?
Your cashback rate depends on your membership level, total monthly card spend and the transaction’s currency.
EUR purchases have different cashback thresholds, but not a separate allowance. All currencies contribute to one monthly spend counter.
Example — Core: After $800 of monthly spend:
If that spend was in EUR (measured in USD equivalent), you have $1,200 remaining before reaching the standard $2,000 threshold for 3% cashback.
If that spend was in USD, you’ve already reached the EUR 3% threshold. Further EUR purchases enter the next band, while USD purchases continue earning 3% until total monthly spend reaches $2,000.
See Membership level benefits for an overview, or EUR purchases: 0% FX rate for details about EUR transactions.
